I'm already counting down the days until our next vacation......14 weeks and 2 days to go! Wooo-hoo! Johnny & I go down to the beach (Murrell's Inlet) in Novemeber for a few days by ourselves while my parents have "Jenkins duty." Johnny golfs some during the day while I do most of my Christmas shopping and then we enjoy night time meals at places they don't offer a kids menu. (It's a rare luxury if you have young children!) We always come back and pick up Jenkins on Wednesday morning before returning to the beach for the remainder of the Thanksgiving week. We do head up to spend Thanksgiving day with Johnny's family in NC but then we return to the beach for some family fun time. Johnny and I started this tradition the first year we had Jenkins (2003), as Johnny wanted to start our own family tradition after his father passed away. Guess it's not your typical family holiday but it really works for us. It's a wonderful week, filled with just the right amount of alone time for Johnny & I.....time with his side of the family (not too much...not too little) and then some special time away for just Johnny, Jenkins & myself. As my friend Missy would say "Life is Good!"
